As a Brit, who loved the UK version of Ghosts, I was sceptical that the US version would live up to the original. If you've watched Brit Ghosts first, you'll find this slow to get started, but when it does, you'll find yourself fully engaged and loving it. As the epsiodes roll by, the actors clearly engage more with their characters and really begin to shine and bring the storylines alive. There is a much larger cast, bigger sets and more off-set filming, so clearly they also have a much larger budget than the UK version; also, I suspect a huge writing team but I honestly believe this results in more scope for funny and varied storylines. I've watched all of series one and two, which makes a total of 40 episodes, ironically already more than the total episodes of UK Ghosts, which has 27 episodes over 5 series. As series 5 is the final one to be made of UK Ghosts, the new US Ghosts is a great way to continue to get your 'Ghosts fix' and I suspect, like me, you'll find yourself enjoying it just as much -or maybe more? My prediction is that it will go on to eclipse the UK original, in the same way that the US Office went on to ecplise the Office UK original.
