It’s visually beautiful & unique but the film leaves little to be desired. It’s very confusing upfront , with many plot holes. Like a cute stranger with no back story.
Also adding the movie’s feminist tone & Self-acceptance message, I was more disappointed after viewing how the plot played out . The ending with the cast was Very old Hollywood “final girl” style, in my opinion.
Finding out that two men wrote the script. Helped my understanding ,the way this nonsensical plot was established. It’s disappointing, in this current climate.
With all the cards they had to use this could have been much better & very successful.
Nonetheless, it’s wonderfully striking , as I must applaud the direction , set design & styling because it really does capture a sort of futuristic paradise of entrapment. I felt the ladies in the movie did the best of what they could with a script but who made the call for the editing before release? Because it was an equivalent to a female castration. I would watch as inspiration for styling, art or just background entertainment.
It’s fun if you don’t take the plot seriously.
