'Animal' is an exciting movie that will leave a spiritual person conflicted on their sense of right and wrong regarding violence while watching the movie, but you will end up being for Ranbir's character to fight and win. You will hurt for his wife, in the movie, though you understand why he does what he did. You will cry at scenes with his dad. You will be touched by scenes with child. You will also laugh during scenes with friends and cousins. I became a fan of Ranbir Kapoor's starting when I watched 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'. Then I saw some other movies of his on Netflix, for examples, Wake Up Sid, Sanju (which lead to me wanting to know more about the real Sanjay Dutt so I started also watching movies starring Mr. Dutt and now his fan too) and Ranbir in Barfi. Ranbir's portrayal of his character in Animal is amazing! My only concern during the movie was wondering why the writer chose the swastika as a symbol for the business because.... despite what it originally stood for...it now stands for hate (as I am African American and sympathize with the horror endured by Jewish people, and understand the hate that symbol now also represents also in America.) Other than that, I loved the movie! I have watched it several times, and I suggested other white and black American friends watch it. I will also go see part two if there is one.

I'm African American in Western NY...the movie, DUNKI, is WONDERFUL! The movie made me laugh, cry, angry, excited, hopeful, and sad. It is a beautiful story. I am a fan of Shah Rukh Khan movies because he is a phenomenal actor and he is touched by God to effect love, change, and acceptance in not just India, but the world because if you watch his later movies you notice much of the message is applicable even to America's social challenges. His blessed spirit and talent shows in his work. I have a lot of respect for him and his work and for who the casting person selects as the other actors and actresses choices in his movies for movies released after year 2000 (although DDLJ prior to 2000 is a great movie ...and love Kajol). I love that he changes with the times and can tell different truths about our world's community in an entertaining way. DUNKI is a love story in MULTIPLE ways (love of country, love of friends, romantic love), but has plenty of ACTION too. Also, the English captions stay on long enough for us to read what is being said yet still see the action. YOU WILL LOVE DUNKI and want to watch it multiple times just like with Swades (one of my favorites with hilarious scene on a task being "difficult", beautiful song with Mela Ram character, and touching scene with Mohan going on both sides of screen to be inclusive) , My Name is Khan (a favorite on confronting discrimination, determination, deep love, and generous spirit), RaOne (fun and great action), Jab Harry Met Sejal (although, I don't understand the acting choice after the kiss scene... why a thumbs up instead of an intimate exchange of looks between sacred lovers finally being able to fully express love???), Pathaan (action, action, action and sexy) , and Jawan (ANOTHER GREAT MESSAGE for India that America should take to heart too. The actors are phenomenal! Go ladies; kick butt!!!! AtLee did great directing...and dancing! (Although , why have the son immediately recognize the father....should there have been a shock effect first?) Plus, Vijay Sethupathi's acting is not just EXCELLENT, but his eyes, smile, and skin are so beautiful to look- as also Mr. Khan's). Hopefully, I didn't misspell those movie titles too badly...lol. GO SEE THE MOVIE, DUNKI. You will not be sorry.

I loved the original, but I love this version too. The original is more of an excellent movie that has musical scenes, and the domestic violence and spiritual redemption is well defined. This new version is more of an excellent musical movie with fantastic spins on storytelling and scenery and sets. I like that Whoopie blesses the movie with her role near the beginning.
