I saw this move when it came out. I am a Vietnam Era vet. Never been to nam but a lot of my buddies have. How ever I have been to the VA and I must say that Ron Kovic did something right because I have been hospitalized several times there and the conditions were nothing like they were when he was hospitalized. I was hospitalized in the late 1990's and early 2000. So they have improved. I could relate to the characters and understood what he was going through. The movie was so realistic. I bought it and still have it today. Damn good movie. I could watch it again and again.
