Great show.. the negative comments here about having a "normal" actor are a bit insane though. Yes they have an able bodied/minded actor playing the part, mainly because the autistic persona in the show is a high functioning savant, something extremely rare. That's not the type of person you can just pick off the street to play a role in your film..
The only problem I foresee for this show is that the writers like to throw political propaganda in the mix. This of-course will take it's toll on roughly half of the viewing community, Some who have voiced clear dislike of it. This may actually cause it to cave in on itself, and be cancelled prematurely.
I'd suggest to the writers to focus on medical decisions and storyline, and leave the politics to politicians. There's no reason to cause possible trouble for yourselves, or give reasons for a portion of people to have apprehension about it, especially when you're working on a gem of a show like this.
