The movie has an amazing and creative new story behind it, then ruins it by being pretty anti-climactic. It starts off as a love story which, I feel like it should have remained a love story.
….About half way through a third person wakes up and the genre seems to change from romance to action. So the 3 people save their damaged ship and the movie ends, we don’t even see them grow old. No one acknowledges the ship woke up the mechanic to fix itself.
There’s a lot of almost killing people, she almost drowns, he almost floats off into space, she almost murders him, he almost gets trapped in his hibernation pod, he almost burns to death, the filmmakers wasted a lot of screen time almost killing people. They could have made the story deeper.
