I love the books. Aging and the elderly are treated with such respect and intelligent humor. I was so looking forward to the movie; the cast looked acceptable, especially Helen Mirren as Elizabeth. But, Iโm truly disappointed. The tone is totally different: not at all what I envisioned. I canโt imagine that Richard Osman was part of the movie collaboration. Half an hour was about all I could take. I wonder if the producers even read the books.
