Helped keep me sane during 2020's quarantine. This book was a ton of fun to finish :)

Five stars simply because looking back on it, i realize how absolutely batsh*t the plot was. Loved it when I was a kid, now see that the series is... well, sort of romanticizing unhealthy relationships and follows the intentionally bland protagonist so that the reader can sort of project themselves onto Bella, I guess? Instead of giving the MC her own personality outside of a love interest. If you're into crazy stuff happening, read the series. The final book is the most batsh*t of all.

A painful read. Alaska got on my nerves, MC got on my nerves, but as one of the closing questions ask, do you always have to like the people you read about? Overall a good book -- though predictable.

I could go on FOREVER about this book. But I won't, I promise. Warning: spoilers ahead! Griffin deserved so much better than what happened to him. Though he goes on to commit terrible crimes, he very quickly becomes the one and only lovable character. Instead of a senseless monster, you follow the trail of a desperate man who was pushed beyond limits that humans should never be pushed to in their lives. The ending had me crying. I literally had to take the rest of the night to recover because of the incredible brutality that he endured and, in my opinion, didn't deserve. Did he deserve to pay for what he had done? Yes, but not in the way that he ultimately did. I'd try and fight Kemp too, Griffin. I'd try and fight him too.

These books carry such important themes and messages within their pages -- the movies won't hit you the way the books will. The entire trilogy is an incredibly important read.

The crown jewel of John Green's books -- the characters are compelling and very easy to get attached to (though I must warn you to please Not do that if you know what's good for ya.) and the story will completely make you cry. Even now, after 8 years, I still tear up thinking about their little infinity. Please, please, read this book.

I was obsessed with this series when I was younger, and I wanted so badly to see the fall of each faction. Worth a read if you have the time, but it's a far cry from The Hunger Games. Doesn't hold a candle.

Okay, so... the first red flag is that the author came from Wattpad. The motives of "Clover" are incredibly unclear, his position as the main antagonist is more annoying than intimidating, Mc's time in the cellar is incredibly repetitive, and I felt like the ending was a little... lackluster. I wouldn't personally recommend it to anyone for serious reading, but if you want to laugh at it with a few friends, it's almost as much fun to make fun of as a Lifetime movie. So at least there's that!
