The worst thing the franchise has ever produced. Awkward, clumsy dialogue, wooden, school-play-quality acting, nonsensical storyline, total disregard for the concept of continuity. Hard to watch. There's been an avalanche of nonsense talked about the 'progressive' nature of the some content. Reactionary and progressive extremists are now predictably screaming at each other. Which is a pity, because this meaningless posturing is overshadowing the need for a proper critical review of this series. The acting and the script are objectively poor.

I don't understand how they've made this worse. The game engine seems to be the same, but the action animation somehow makes the player more distant from the game than ever. Feels slow and clumsy.

I suppose this where Hollywood is now: intriguing premise, beautiful visuals - but nonsensical narrative, stilted dialogue, two dimensional avatars emoting without meaning. It's hard to feel anything other than disengaged when characters act without motive or consistency. Even the sci-fi content isn't compelling because it feels like a series of vignettes made by a couple of dozen creators who were never allowed to collaborate Forgettable

I really wanted to like this. Visually, lots of Sci-Fi lovers' boxes are ticked. But the dialogue and especially the acting are like low budget children's TV. Several online reviews talked about the quality of the young cast. I can only assume those reviewers don't watch much Sci-Fi. Laboured, hackneyed, trite and like a school play. Awful.
