Diversity matters to me. My criticism is about the script and the missing focus on MRKH. I watched โFitting Inโ to see more about MRKH: the diagnosis, the grief, the wish for children, the uncertainty around sex, and how people live with it. The film only brushes over this. One very important point is missing: infertility breaks your heart and stays with you โ that is barely shown. Instead, many other topics are added, so the core of MRKH gets lost. The main character also hurts boys, and the film hardly addresses that โ this doesnโt help the portrayal of MRKH.
Also, MRKH is a difference of the internal reproductive organs; it is not about gender identity and it has nothing to do with intersex. Putting these topics side by side creates confusion. Outsiders might wrongly link MRKH with intersex or trans issues, which can increase stigma. People with MRKH often already feel different or excluded; this makes it worse. For me, that was a very poor storytelling choice. I would have preferred the film to stay with MRKH and go deeper.
