I could write a more complex book using random pickings from my alphabet soup. I was somewhat excited for this book as it was recommended to me by a friend and most of its reviews were positive, but this "self-help" book was one of the least compelling pieces I have ever read.
The ideas presented cannot be described a "wrong." In fact, everything in here is so "right" that you, unless you're under the age of four, knew it already. I trudged through 75% of the book hoping for the introduction of more nuanced concepts but it had nothing but more elementary cliches to present. I have no idea how how anyone read 304 banal pages and came out of it thinking, "Wow, I should give this a 5 star review."
If you are looking for a more complex self-help book, please turn your attention to Dr. Seuss's "Oh, The Places You'll Go." Or really any other works in his discography--including "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish."
