I saw one of the best “documentary” movies in a very long time. I found it much more than a doco, thus the quotation marks. It was a film of artists sharing how they were forced to defend themselves as Russia finalized long term plans to take the democratic country of Ukraine back into its sphere of dictatorship disguised as democracy. The way that these people shared their art and their struggle had tears running down my cheeks into my beard a few times as I saw them struggling to maintain their humanity while having to defend themselves by killing the people sent to kill them. I highly recommend seeing this film if you get the chance. I would like to add that I hope people can think about, not only America, as they cast their votes in November, but consider Ukraine. They need our ongoing support and consideration as they fight to keep a beautiful country alive.
