This is an in depth account of the NZ Wars by an author who was born and raised in the Waikato in the late 19th century. As a child with his father he met with some of the Maori chiefs who fought against the Colonial soldiers. This is the most authentic history of this era I have read. Brilliant! But sometimes gruesome in it's detail.
