A creative piece , written so intelligently to transport the reader from one place to another. A deep uncovering of characters who are relatable. This is the kind of book that you want to keep reading to the end , but it’s also the kind of book you put down to take it all in, the kind of book you take pauses for.
Adichie’s writing is inclusive, this allows the reader to relate to her work and understand it even more. She explores really interesting themes (Identity , love ,
Prejudice …) . I particularly enjoyed the one on Identity. As human beings , I think we participate in this dance throughout our lives, the dance of understanding ‘thyself’, because the idea of the ‘self’ is susceptible to change. It can be influenced by your environment, state of mind , the people you associate with and many other factors.
This book represents what it’s like to ‘be’ human.
Thank you Adichie, for sharing your gift with us. For representing us and seeing us. It feels good to be seen and represented.
