Vivek Agnihotri and team deserves kudos for this honest and possibly controvercial narration for some viewers, true story of the biggest genocide and exodus of indians in their own country. It's amazing to imagine that both the central and state governments did practically nothing to avoid or at least put any visible efforts for stopping this. Kashmiri pandits were tortured, killed and made to leave their homes where they and their generations lived. Is Kashmir not theirs? Direction, acting and story telling is top class, editing could have been slightly better though the movie was still gripping. There was an absolute silence throughout in the theater. I recommend to all who want to watch truth of current history and a genuine and honest story telling of true events on a big sceen. Thanks to the producers, actors and director for creating a real gem.

This was one of the 15 consecutive super hit movies by first and only super star of hindi film industry Rajesh Khanna. His double roll, Mumtaj in female lead roll, Manmohan Desai's direction, music by Kalyan Ji Anand ji and support cast by Vinod Khanna, everything was top notch. Song meri pyari behaniya is an iconic song and was played by bands in India for decades. I was in 7th grade at that time and could not watch this movie but watched it many years after and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rajesh Khanna was brilliant in both negative and Bhola's rolls. Bhola's pet dog's part in the movie is also important. This is such a movie that cannot be missed if you like 70's movies.
