This movie was literal trash. The forced chemistry between Naomi and Ely was absolutely ridiculous—the disrespect Naomi had for Ely’s sexuality was enraging, then the fact that Ely didn’t even address the way Naomi disrespected him was even worse. It sends a terrible message to viewers, seeming to say that respecting one’s sexuality means nothing. The whole movie Naomi was flirting with Eli and once his shirt was off in a scene, Naomi made creepy comments, but played it off because “he’s gay and I’m a woman so we could never be a thing”. The level of control their relationship had was toxic, to say the least, and again sends a message that controlling relationships are okay. Most of the viewers of this film will likely be young teens, who are impressionable, and get a lot of their validation from media and not persons in real life. This movie sends the message that it’s ok to be a controlling friend and that exploiting a person because of their sexuality is perfectly okay. Don’t watch this, don’t recommend it to anyone, and most of all, don’t be like Naomi.
