Wow, this was so surprisingly terrible, it kind of hurt. And, while the books were mediocre, I thought this might provide Witcher-level comedy (funny when's they are trying to be serious). Alas, it is unredeemable.

I hate horror as a genre, but this show engages in exploring hate and racism as horrific monsters along with the supernatural, so as a lifelong fan of sf&f, I was lured in by my husband. Yes, I was running around the living room and half up the stairs at a couple of points. But the storytelling has started out strong, with complex characters and a mysterious through-line I can't wait to unravel, even peeking through my fingers.
