Such a fantastic, witty, well-written show. Just finished all 4 seasons and kinda feeling empty so I am here to pour out all the affection I have towards the series.
I'm not a French speaker, but I was somehow recommended by Netflix to watch this series and I honestly think it's the best recommendation that the algorithm has given me - the most pleasant surprise ever. Many TV sitcoms/drama conventionally tell the stories of celebrities and actors - the ones who are always in the limelight. But Call My Agent! offers such a refreshing perspective and encapsulates the lives of those working hard behind the scenes - of agents themselves.
I myself as an audience almost forgot that the main cast in this series are themselves, actors and actresses - because of stellar acting, twists and very rapid-fire French that makes the entire show even more intriguing (not forgetting the very helpful English subs that make the show very easy to absorb and doesn't destroy the viewing experience).
All in all this was a thoroughly wonderful series to binge (not too fast though, the enjoyment is so short-lived because there is only a total of 4 short seasons... though I heard a new season/movie could be in the making soon!), and I was captivated throughout its entirety. All the characters are so perfectly flawed that you might easily find traits/quirks of theirs to personally relate to.
Strong and vibrant cast with fantastic guest star appearances too. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Camille Cottin (who played Andrea), as she was so wonderful and gave such a heartfelt performance that allowed myself to have newfound respect for strong-headed female leads (i.e. also a toast to working mothers!). The characters come alive and make the plot unbelievably believable. Strongly recommended - watch if you just love showbiz, plot twists and office politics. Bonuses are the beautiful landscapes of Paris where most of the show was shot in, and also the soundtrack/music score that was used - was great.
I'd say it was quite a roller-coaster ride - I laughed out loud at certain comic moments, but I also found myself shedding a tear or two somewhere during the season finale.
