Old School RetroCast

An all-star cast, good old fashioned murder mystery film with legendary actors/actresses and more importantly, no ridiculous CGI. The script starts slowly, somewhat realistic (not far-fetched), charming at times with a family oriented feeling to it - in other words... real life. Travolta is fabulous with V.O. narrative as well and you can actually feel the love in the father/daughter scenes (as Travolta's real life daughter is also in the film - She did a great job.) Remember the old time RADIO DETECTIVE shows, such as Philip Marlowe, Boston Blackie or Johnny Dollar? Think along these terms and you will find this movie, relaxing, yet still wanting to watch to see the "who dunnit" finale. For someone my age, 50+, the script is calming, realistic... with an intriguing plot and I will watch it again to appreciate it that much more. Terrific work by entire cast and crew. Well done.
