The book started off at an interesting arc but the writing was average and fast paced, way too fast paced. It totally skipped through all the emotions of the characters whether good or bad. There was no lasting impact of the words. The plot was interesting, it kept up my attention till the last, it was filled with one adventure after another from Chaitanya's life. It was filled with surprising turns. The characters were three dimensional but at certain points, they just fell flat. I think the characters and the narrative could have been greatly improved. The potential was definitely there. Overall, it was an average read. And the author mentions in the end that the reason for writing the book is because he wanted to talk about paracracy — a system where everyone get an equal beginning — but the entire concept may sound lucrative but didn't sound very much applicable. It would have been better if more of the how was talked about in the book. My personal suggestion would have been to write a fantasy book with a society practicing paracracy, instead of picking such a plot.

The Whispering Dwarpa is fantasy fiction with the mix of mythology. The book revolves around the kingdom of Devgarh which has managed to stay in Dwarpa yug, when the rest of the world has entered the Kali yug. The plot starts when Partha is taken to Devgarh as a result of being selected to study in the prestigious Gurukul which harbors a plethora of secret knowledge. From there on, the plot proceeds to answer the questions of the readers as well as the character. The plot was alright, good even. The pace set for the book was also correct. The same could not be said about writing style and the dialogues. The dialogues didn't feel as if coming from highly talented and educated individuals like the characters were supposed to be. There were so many grammatical mistakes, unnecessary exclamation points and the most irksome was how the characters kept "shouting in their thoughts". An attempt for humor was made but the effect was somehow lost. The concepts and the world building was actually good i.e. the author has a wonderful imagination but the transformation of that into words wasn't quite successful. The characters were nice enough. All the important characters were three dimensional. Overall, it was a book with a lot of unused potential.
