I think the worst possible thing for Code Vein was to be linked in any way to Dark Souls, because soul is precisely what it seems to lack. Everything seems cheap and imitated, like somebody looked at DS and copied it without actually understanding what makes it great. It is gorgeous superficiality, but quite hollow overall.
