I grew up with this movie and the sequel movies, it’s 2021 and I’m finally watching it again for the first time in a long time on Disney+ and I would say If this movie dropped this year I can smell the reviews already lol! People would say Santa groomed that elf saying “she looks really good for her age” and then she replies “thanks but I’m seeing someone in wrapping” a little uncomfortable or could be a sensitive line for this outspoken generation plus she was an actual child in real life during the time, some of the jokes are considered “inappropriate” or “sexiest” and etc. It’s a bottle of mixed emotions of the movie that I obviously didn’t understand much of as a child. But looking back at a ton of movies back then, this is what you expect and just get use to it, there’s no going back and I’m certainly not going for a “cancel this movie” type of vibe. I still love this movie! The memories of enjoying it as a child and the thrill of watching it for the first time, especially when my family put it on and we all sat around the living room with hot coco and our handmade forts!! Ah, memories. I give it a balance love and hate for this movie. I’d simply do a 3/6.
