As I've been seeing the reviews, I still can't understand what's all the hatred and negativity about? Did you expect Thugs of Hindostan to be an offbeat film? If you did, then you're at fault since it's meant to entertain and exhilarate the viewer with its action sequences, visuals, music, comedy and fun apart from memorable characters. Thugs is a light hearted action adventure with no vulgarity or obscenity and is a film families will relish. Don't expect it to be dark or extremely serious because it never was meant to be.
Among the cast, Amitabh Bachchan deserves a huge round of applause for his action hero role written efficiently. I really had goosebumps the moment he entered. His energy shows up in the action sequences and parts where he gets some of the best lines in the film. Aamir Khan has played his part very effectively. His character is surprisingly complex and his comic timing is fun. He also excels in the action sequences, and so does Fatima Sana Shaikh, who gets a lot of white knuckle action scenes to perform. Katrina is just there, but is decent. Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub evokes great laughs.
Screenplay is neatly written and editing is top notch. Music is good. Action sequences are electrifying. Cinematography and visual effects are splendid.
Thugs of Hindostan is meant to entertain, and it succeeds in doing that. It's a fun, colorful action-adventure epic which will not let you down. This is complete fun. I really loved it.
5/5 stars.
