I felt cinematically is was spectacular. The outdoor staging and dancing amazing. Maria was perfect a miraculous talent! I miss the theatricality of the original. The dramatic lighting when Tony and Maria meet. I felt the extra dialogue and adding various location shots made the movie drag. I felt a bit bored at times. Therefore it didn’t have the emotional impact. Beautiful to watch. But I didn’t feel it. I’m sadly underwhelmed by it

It is brilliantly disturbing and thought provoking. It comes at you initially as a farce but then starts to drills into your brain and soul until they are both crushed. I’m still reeling hours later. Scarlet Johansson gave a brilliant layered performance. I’ve never seen her do anything like this I’m in awe. It’s something that can’t be described this movie has to be experienced. 5 stars!
