Now, I haven't read the comics upon which this series is based. It starts out relatively well but soon descends into a quagmire of bad decisions. It feels like it is trying to be The Boys or Invincible but isn't really coming up to the mark. The first negative was the age makeup, it looked ridiculous. There are many things that simply don't work. The pacing is very poor. I think that I got to about episode 5 and was starting to struggle so had to fast forward a lot of the "unnecessary posturing". The action is very thin. They spend too long on the flashbacks to how the original superhero squad come across their powers in the 1920s and it didn't grip me at all. The druggie daughter was a bit of a turn off. George's son Hutch was one of the highlights and he was barely used. I actually liked the villains more than all of the rest of the cast, even the dead clone had better pathos. Leslie Bibb (Lady Liberty) was a suitable honey as she always is. I thought the actor playing George/Skyfox was great. I thought Andrew Horton was decent as The Paragon. Tenika Davis was also memorable as the Flare II despite having a terrible suit. But ultimately the show was Meh, wouldn't recommend. Not surprised Netflix cancelled it but would hope they learn from this and do better next time.
