From a British viewer perspective it’s starts poorly depicting the RAF as useless and a bunch of weakling toffs (both historically incorrect). Episode 6 again tries to put the British in bad light , for finally hitting a target but causing death to civilians (I think Americans were also caught up in this with their very poor performance during night raids and also poor day bombing due to having to dodge flak). Episode 6 again, the Germans default to thinking they are Americans, more likely they would have thought British RAF. But the viewer gets to see their American hero’s getting blamed for something they did not do (ridiculous, rubbish). A real pity as there are moments when this is really good, but America and Hollywood is too focused on re-writing history that they alone won the war. This was filmed and took place in the U.K. where most of the sorties would have been from the RAF. The facts are that the USA bombing raids were not that successful in the end as they got destroyed during the day: eventually the Americans listened and switched to night raids , but here they performed poorly as pilots were not skilled enough. Even the Germans were only doing night raids after they received battle Britain beating . Going back to first episode the stupid fight with RAF , where the American says he was Irish … great, that’s just great: well you be proud of that, Republic Ireland was neutral during WW2 and plenty of British Irish fought for Britain. Hollywood trying to re-write history for Americans. Shameful we let this factually warped series be filmed in England.
