(SPOILERS.)
The movie wasn't that bad in terms of writing/story but it felt...uninteresting in terms of tone after a while. There are 2 scenes i love in it alot, but overall it didnt feel that interesting to me. The fantastic 4 are decent, but atlwst to me they didnt really feel like a "family" as theyre said to be like, they felt two duos of friends who happen to live with and work with each other. The plot with them having to give up Franklin Richards to galactus for the earth to be safe in my opinion was VERY GOOD writing and interesting,I liked that. I felt bad when Sue storm "died."...but then it turns out she didnt actually die and it felt like a cheap death to garner sympathy/make u engaged. Overall....in my.opinion the movie just felt dull and didnt have much genuine heart behind it. I give it a 6/10,at HIGHEST a 7 but only for like those 2 scenes i mentioned. It wasn't a "bad" movie in my opinion, but it just...it felt dull and didnt feel really interesting to me. Some parts felt engaging, but overall it felt...mostly dull like I just didn't feel connected much. I will admit, the tension is very good in the movie and galactus is VERY intimidating and menacing, but overall...the film felt dull to me i personally just didnt connect with it it felt like, the characters felt a little bland, but Mr.fantastic is VERY smart in this movie and I respect that, and Johnny storm is alright. But yeah overall I give it a 5.7/6 out of 10 and MAYBE a 7/10 at its highest for me. I barely smiled watching the movie as well,I smiled like I think about 3-4 times? Yeah pretty much. Im not saying the movie is BAD...it isnt. It's good at some parts and it really suprised me when silver surfer betrayed the fantastic 4,but overall...I say its just "Okay". It feels...forgettable overall. It felt like it was TOO focused on tension and it didnt feel inspiring and just...nice to watch it felt kind of meh BESIDES the intro scene where the F4 are first introduced. That scene, and the scene where Sue storm makes her speech to the world about her son are the only scenes I can genuinley say I liked. I can confidently say i am THANKFUL I chose to get a ticket to see SUPERMAN in theatres over fantastic 4,because for me...if i had spent 20+ dollars to see FANTASTIC 4 FIRST STEPS in the THEATRE...would have felt like a waste of those 20 dollars. I feel no urge to see fantastic 4 again.
