I went to the movie hall with high hopes, the kind of hope one usually pins on Raj Kumar hirani who is known to bring emotions live on screen that resonate with the audience, albeit without being preachy or in-your-face about it. And when featuring an actor known for his precise and meticulous acting like ranbir, one usually thinks it ll be the kind of best movie one gets to see every once in a blue moon. For starters,I'd advise everyone to finish all their work for the day and then go watch the movie coz its SO DAMN LONG. Editors C'mon now u cuda done a much better job. Ranbir tries sincerely, oh yes he does, fleetingly at times we cannot reply distinguish between ranbir the actor playing sanju and sanju baba himself as we've seen him through the years. Parish Rawal takes the cake in all his scenes. Diya Mirza, manisha koirala,Anushka Sharma do not have much to offer. Sonam kapoor and boman irani have blink and miss roles.boman irani interestingly gets a double role. One as the father of ruby(sonam) who later dies and another in a scene compilation from munnabhai mbbs featuring him as the iconic dean. But the real breakout star would be Vicky kaushal.he is so endearing, so charming, so sincere and the only one with whom the audience can resonate a little and feel along with. The only nagging issue in this movie is how they've tried to sugar coat and glorify everything. And the excuses aren't even that solid. Sorry it didn't ring with me. Rajkummar hirani ji, this one quite simply isn't ur best work.
