I just read a very unfavorable article posted at the beginning of the series and all the comments posted in response. I love this series! Makes me want to reread the books because I know many liberties were taken here. However, Anne played by Amybeth McNulty is brilliant! Marilla and Matthew, Jerry, Diana, all are very good. Although I don’t really appreciate the obligatory woke themes inserted into it, I’m watching it for the third time now because it is genius. Yes, it is darker than the books, but the darkness provides a contrast to her cheery outlook and draws more sympathy from we watchers. I find it extremely worth watching!
