I've watched hundreds and hundreds of horror movies, and was pretty sure that nothing would ever rattle me like the Exorcist. Well, then along came the Babadook, and the Exorcist was left in the dust. The acting, the directing, the script are all perfect. The way the film conveys mental illness and loss is truly astounding and is in no way demeaning or sentimental. The film will rattle you emotionally, psychologically, and physically like no other, and I cannot recommend it enough.
