Had time to watch a movie and after seeing many positive reviews, I thought of settling down with Awe! expecting something different and satisfactory. No denial this movie is different and unique as per audience reviews and it’s really glad to see such new scrips coming up in Telugu cinema. However, this movie doesn’t live up to the expectations (maybe because of all the hypes) and I was not satisfied with the ending, in particular. As the movie progresses towards the end, I was expecting a few more scenes but it just ended abruptly with the final credits. A lot of characters are left incomplete and logic of the story begins to fall apart. For instance, the ghost that solves the Rubik’s cube. The aspiring time traveler’s parents. The connection between the lone lead and the ghost. The lead representing the abused teenager is fine - but how can she represent the psychiatrist also? Is the lead struggling or is she successful (if she’s shown as the psychiatrist)? The director seems to have put a lot of emphasis on the issues trending in the modern world - time travel, homosexuality, psychiatric issues, drug abuse and some ‘cool’ communication technology, but the crux of the story looks like it’s about to be complete, but it’s best if it’s left incomplete. And this is where the whole movie looks incomplete and logic comes to question. As much as I watched the movie, there are loopholes here and there, which could have been addressed, but for now, it’s quite a disappointment in spite of the unusual (in a positive way) storyline.
