The series continues its extremely high quality fight scenes and inventive gratuitous violence, but it doesn't make up for an extremely poorly held together story, throwaway references and plot lines, chemistry-free relationships between characters and obnoxious call backs without any meaning. The emotion relating to lives lost in WW1 has been done so much better by hundreds of other films. Any satire attempted was lost by failing to deliver a punchline. Any emotional transference was lost by being too surreal and ridiculous. A bit of a stain on the series, as far as I can see.
