This movie was not the steaming pile of excrement that critics said it was. I actually enjoyed it and I am quite familiar with the Del Toro films. Most people crapped on it because they didn't use Ron Perlman to reprise his arguably most iconic role as Hellboy. I was really hoping for a sequel
