This show is entertaining and was enjoyable. I find the lack of hairstyle for the main character quite discordant. Ladies in that era did not have unbound hair. Even peasants had hats. Also the role of Georgiana, though interesting, is hardly true to the era. The English peerage at that time were quite locked into their 'traditions' and did not accept young women being outspoken. It is doubtless they would have accepted Georgiana simply because she was black. It is a sad indictment of that time in history. To modern audiences, this is an unpalatable truth, but the reality is that any person not of a certain class system or racially decreed acceptable, could interact with the Lords and ladies, Kings and Queens. It is doubtful Charlotte Georgiana, or Mr Stringer would have been at any balls given by the nobility, even in small county gatherings. As for the series itself, it has a certain charm, grabbing the attention of the viewer with well written dialogue and beautiful scenery. The costumes were well done and, unlike other series, appear to have been fitted (particularly in the men). Overall, a series with lots of quirks and one that produces an uplifting experience.
