Not sure what the critics are thinking. This movie is a great adaption of the play. Ben Platt is amazing and, in my opinion, gives award-winning performance. Yes, he does look a bit older than a high school senior but I went to school with plenty of people who looked older. This criticism is exaggerated. He displays so much emotion in this performance through so really powerful singing.
