Laika made another amazing movie that fell prey to the age old issue with children's movies...they got lost in the mix of muddled similar releases. There was Little Foot, Abominable and some straight to Netflix releases. It's a shame as this was the movie that was far superior to them all. It has humor, adventure and animation excellence. Do yourself a favor and watch this.

This is one of my favorite animated movies in recent times. It may even be up there with secret of NIMH. I have always been a fan of stop motion animation (going back to the days of Ray Harryhausen--think Sinbad/Jason and Argonauts). This studio has taken that excellence, refined it and then used the medium to tell compelling stories. There are scary spots for children (Kubo's Aunts to start), but also joy and sadness. I will always watch a movie by Laika given their history of producing amazing experiences.
