Garbage. Honestly some of these critics are really reaching to make the movie sound interesting. Girl cries the whole film. Guilts boyfriend to include her on what is to be the guys trip just because her life is messed up so hey why not drag him down too, right?? They go because one of the friends belongs to a cult and each one dies off one by one, but hey, nobody makes that big a deal of course because it would ruin an unrealistic story about cults. I wasted 2 1/2 hours of my life watching this. Yes, there are some grisly scenes. No, this is not a horror, not even psychological because you can see what’s coming a mile away. If you like constant crying, nonstop yodeling, and the most uncomfortable sex scene in film history, then this movie is for you. I’m not going to try to give this movie a good review because I’m honestly upset I sat through it. It’s not a game changer, unless you feel garbage is game changing. Honest review, 0/10.
This movie barely touches on bipolar disorder as that is the cause for the pain at the start of the movie, it is not the focus of this film. This is a film about cultism. Not about American society and it’s perceptions of sex, sadness, etc. I’m typing this after reading some of the other ridiculous wanna be Roger Ebert critiques. Truth, bad relationship. She dumped her issues on the bf, he was tired of it and wanted something new with less drama and more sex, bf wants to go on this trip with friends, he gets guilted into having the gf tag along. Meet cult, each dies one by one until it’s up to the gf if she wants the bf to die after they drugged him into banging a local. She chooses to kill him, smiles, shes lost it, the end. The movie sucks. Stop trying to make it sound like an achievement.
