Let me start by saying it being the worst x men film is an understatement. While the cast has some actors that I enjoyed in other things, it’s clear they just weren’t given much to work with and they are the best thing about it. The movie tried to be breakfast club and x men but also a horror film, and just utterly fails at all 3. It’s not scary , there’s never any sense that anyone’s in danger and there’s also no reason to care about the characters because there’s so little real conflict In the film...just a mess. It’s so bad I was laughing at parts not supposed to be funny. Everyone is just there, we don’t really know why or get to know the characters too well at all but they are certainly there stuck by a force field and some evil force is lurking about. The main villain and protagonist are there , but that’s about it ...what should be the heart of the film is generic, boring and pointless...they’re so flatly directed and devoid of meaningful character development you could almost forget about them. Wolfsbane and Magic are better done but the film being so dumb doesn’t do them justice. It’s like a really bad tv show...it’s too PG for adult comic book fans but too dark for kids so it’s really got an identity problem by not really having a genre...even as sort of weird art film it has no meaning. The ending is prob the worst part , just full of anti climatic ness and bad cgi. It’s obvious why it took so long to release bc it’s total junk that prob should’ve been re shot completely w some drastic changes and rewritten script
