This book has a genuine, authentic feel to it. It is not a coming of age story told by an adult, as the author was a young teenager at the time of the stories initial release. It has a certain charm to it that is hard to capture in most books, along with relatable characters and ominous undertones. It does not fail to capture the periods of adolescence that adults erase once matured. Certainly worth the read from people outside of the teen target audience.
