Kevin Bacon proves to me that silence is golden. His performance has a quiet strength. I don't believe anyone would know what to say in circumstances like these. Sometimes just being there is more important than words. I also believe his character like all of us is riddled with guilt about what we did or not able to do in this conflict. Bacon's character was overwhelmed by death. When he found out that the army soldier was actually escorting his brother, he pretty much remained silent. I do not know why he did this, but I guess in that situation what can be said. I would of liked an at least an I am sorry. Seemed odd to me.There is the guilt again? Maybe?
I am not dead, yet they are. Why? The incredible grief of losing a brother that I cannot share. Guilt the curse of western man. Now we have new dead to bury on a different front. The medical community deserves as much respect as Chance Phelps received. How we can all do this each day is just do simple safety precautions. I know this easier said than done. Especially if a person can't pay a mortgage, have a sick relative or what ever the problem; moreover the way we live now is totally unnatural with Covid 19. We have to rely on each other if we are going to make it. Violence will not help. My daughter said there are protests brewing. Not a good sign. The incredible part of Taking Chance was the caring by, not just the military, the American people as well; all of us. If we have reverance for life it can work, we have our Chance now. We must think long and hard on that. Thanks for the read.
