Shoresy is an expansion of the Letterkenny story we are all familiar with, but the material that inspired this show cannot even hope to hold a candle to the tour de force that is Shoresy.
In Letterkenny Shoresy is a trash talking background character with nothing more than his exploits against Riley and Jonesy to anchor him to the larger cast. However in his own standalone story we see this vapid, hot head turn into somthing that our current generation is sadly truly lacking, someone to look up to.
Over the course of just six half-hour episodes, I went from a giggling observer, ejoying the hijinx that ensue in its all-too-breif runtime, into the one thing a sports program should be trying to create...
I became a fan.
Shoresy as a show is raucous, raunchy and vulgar... But Shoresy, the character, is a self-sacrificing, earnest individual. He knows no limit to his giving for the ones he cares about. For every pantsing he gives to his teammates is an equal or greater dose of wisdom and want for the betterment of his team.
Blood, sweat and tears aren't the token of his efforts here, theyre the ticket that lets you in the door. The final game in the first season vs Soo St. Marie proves to me that no matter the subject matter and no matter who is on your team, no matter what that may be...
Your efforts can and will inspire, its just a matter of caring.
Jared Keeso has proven that just becausea man has lost, doesn't mean he is lost.
I cannot recommend this show enough. For evey ounce a comedy that this is, it is double the measures a lesson in true masculinity and the fire that a true born leader can inspire.
