The Good Doctor is insulting, alienating, and continously rolling out trauma porn. The main character not only does a splendidly horrid job at showing how autistic people live their life, but it also pits the senseless portrayal against practical and hard-nosed characters such as Dr. Han. Homey you ain't a surgeon, you're a poorly conceived caricature of life on the spectrum that fits nicely into narratives non autistic people *accept* as adequate behavior. This show alienates people from truer experiences of relating to one another who are completely unlike what is known. It shunts bravery while waving a lackluster flag of banal acceptance. The crying, the tears, the constant deaths, the blood, it's all a portrait of the blind lust for violence over understanding, excitement over curiousity, and intrigue over growth. In but a short while, I imagine this will be looked back on with a grimace.
