Not good. It feels like they rushed the production of this movie. The trailer came out a couple months ago and it was called Mayberry Children or something along those lines. It randomly came out sooner than expected and was named Weapons. Full of plot holes. Felt like the people producing the movie didn’t like that the ending of the movie wasn’t artsy fartsy so they decided to rewrite it into whatever this crap is. Could have made a decent movie with a great plot ! I was super excited, but I wasted two hours of my life to find out absolutely nothing. This movie didn’t know if it wanted to be scary, an art project, or a comedy. All around stupid.

Seeing that this movie was made by James Gunn, I had high hopes especially after the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. I was extremely impressed with directing in this film. The cinematography was beautiful. I felt like I was back watching my first ever superhero movie. The romance between Lois and Superman was also nice to see. The contrast of Lois to the other woman in the film was nicely done. However, here is where the movie fell short for me. James Gunn is notorious for jokes that typically do somewhat well, but his jokes in this movie fell flat and were awkwardly timed. I think I laughed at one. Furthermore, he is now on the bandwagon for trash cinema. We see the stereotypical sexual narrative that I believe most of us are tired of seeing. A pointless girl jumping up and down in slow motion, hookers on the streets with no clothes, and a main character whose “sexy selfies” are shown about a dozen times. For a teenage boy, I’m sure this movie is amazing, for an adult, not so much... It’s a cop out for most films and tv shows to get views so we don’t focus on the lack of proper plot or interesting content within a film. Towards the end of the movie, we see a girl (I won’t say who it’ll spoil part of the film) call Superman a bitch. I guess James Gunn has adopted the art of being tacky.
