I was drawn to this movie because it offered a strong and independent female lead in a Telugu movie. But boy was it a trash film - one of the worst I've seen.
1. Production quality was awful. White "Americans" speaking english were literally voiced with text-to-speech ... how do you release a movie using text-to-speech?
2. Story made no sense:
- Dad getting alzheimers early from "working too much" - nonsense
- Middle class Indian family moving to a mansion in the "Bay area" - nonsense .. bay area is ridiculously expensive
- She graduates top of her MBA class and gets a prestigious job .. at what seems to be a call center?? what?!
- She moves out of the home .. but where does she move?
- Her only goal is to start a business, but what business? What is the goal of her business? She doesn't even have a business plan?
- She gets a 500k loan and starts her first tea shop (In California Bay area), and due to it's success she opens 5 more all over California .. Sacramento, LA, San Diego, Bakersfield ... cool. Except this all happens within 2 months of starting a business. - utter nonsense
- Many other random plot moments that made no sense
The story had potential. With a little bit of effort with careful writing, they could have used some realism related to the struggles of entrepreneurship to drive the story. Figuring out life on her own after moving out, struggling for *years* to deliver on the company etc. But they decided to waste everyone's time with this nonsense, trash movie.
