Pleasantly surprised! I love how they relate back to so many Hebraic "Easter" eggs, for lack of a better word. Well-researched, well-portrayed, and extremely clever. The political intrigue is interesting all by itself! While much of David's history is undocumented, this rendition leaves me asking, Well, why not? It *could* have happened that way. The only issue I have had so far (I have only watched 5 episodes) is the father who backs down from Ahinoam when she tells him his daughter would have to be stoned if Eshbaal were to be. That is a penalty of adultery, not fornication. Otherwise the Torah (and by extension, God) would have contradicted itself saying that the defiler had to forever support the woman he had defiled. The penalty is either forced marriage (on the man's part) or stoning. How could it be both? I think Ahinoam was being deceitful, but it irks me that the girls father didn't know better. Overall, this show is easily a 5 out of 5!
