Let’s try to keep it simple.
Merits- Excellent cinematography and production. That is to be expected by Kemi A’s visuals. I think the two main male characters interpreted their roles to the best of their abilities, to the extent the material would allow.
Demerits- The entire story started hot, but fell off by the 2nd-3rd episodes. It suffered from identity crises, it was not sure if it wanted to be a thriller or a drama. The pacing was lost, many irrelevant arcs that served no purpose, side characters that got forgotten along the way. Mood music use was overtly excessive, sometimes drowning the dialogues.
Even the title of the show is a misnomer of sorts, we never see their operations, how their scams worked, how they bypassed financial regulatory and monitoring laws, the bankers behind them etc…
In the end, the MCs were all conveniently offed with no earned justification. The story could have been told in fewer episodes, the purpose of MO’s tragedy was not clear.
Cinematography alone is not what makes a good production, the story is what does.
