Rise of Skywalker is a poor Disney attempt at a rehash of ROTJ, with many regurgitated scenes and lines from previous films. Forced humor is rampant, and happens often in awkward places as dramatic tension is just building. There are numerous over-the-top sequences that go against accepted lore, and what happens in this film negatively impacts the larger story saga across the films. All-powerful character design is what negatively impacts this film the most, making it unremarkably hollow.
