This game is definitely not what was promised at all. This doesn't exactly mean its a bad game, however, it was marketed as a choice heavy role-playing game, the reality is the opposite. There is an illusion of player choice but in reality there is almost zero player agency.
The game trailers like to show a sort of rags to riches style story of taking over night city and becoming someone of legend. The marketing specifically showed partying throughout night city drinking, doing drugs and "building" a reputation in reality these were all just story cutscenes with no choice. Even fallout 4, a flawed game, had the basic role-playing option of drinking and using substances and then suffering consequences in the form of addiction. there is no option to really play as a something as simple as a good or bad character.
I wasn't expecting something as in depth as fallout new Vegas or skyrim in terms of making your character your own but i was expecting to be able to do something as simple as sitting on a bench or get a haurcut. there are no cosmetic items such as jewelry or fancy cyber cosmetics that you could spend your hard earned money on. I could go on and on about having no immersive features throughout night city.
If you want an in depth review of the game and its pros and cons I would recommend
Fudge Muppets video Cyberpunk 2077: an unfulfilled promise.
Some of my other cons:
The story is linear.
romance has no basic features such as going on a date or having them follow as a companion.
perks aren't amazing
multiple playthroughs don't feel worth it at all.
no new game plus
there is not enough role-playing feautures
