Ok, we get it- she's way too serious and all important, not to mention as tautly strung as A7 on a violin, to be bothered with a few beautifully tailored outfits and clean, polished hair but please... I too really wanted to like this series but that unhinged scene, rolling around in the woods, pummeling her husband was the final "no" for me. The Diplomat? *Cringe* The "everyone running around babysitting the old, bumbling U.S. president, dictating his every move because he's incapable of even eating a private meal without their guidance" angle was obvious as well as eye-opening. Slight propagandist move regarding our current situation? "Nothing to see here America, the adults have it in hand". PS-I did agree with one of the comments suggesting Olivia Pope as a perfect alternative in this role-slow-burn as opposed to frenetic.
