*Spoiler Alert*
Starts off slow but then starts to get interesting in the middle. The gen z references were super annoying and made it obvious that this was written by an older man. The ending was very underwhelming to the point I was rolling my eyes from how stupid it was. There was no reason for the mom to confess everything. If anything, she could’ve killed the boys for breaking into her garage but instead she just shot one and confessed what her husband did. And then she said she had to accept even though he had told her earlier that day?? If you learned that your husband was responsible for killing your only daughter you wouldn’t “accept it” after a few hours. Even if he thought his daughter was in the car with the teacher, that’s still a very stupid reason to run her car off the road. So to say that he did that to “protect his family” is a cheap and stupid excuse. And if Chloe’s journal had incriminating evidence, why wouldn’t he burn it/ hide it instead of ripping out pages and putting it back where Hunter could find it. It was just stupid and a waste of time. This book had so much potential but the author went with the obvious plot twist which leaves you wondering what was the point of reading the whole book.
